Romp N Roll Katy

Small Business Introduction

I would love to introduce you to Romp N Roll Katy! As a small business owner I am passionate about helping and supporting other small businesses. I love to collaborate and network, and I live by the term community over competition! Therefore, I will be featuring and promoting businesses I love in my blog!

Please kick things off with an introduction to yourself and Romp N Roll Katy

My name is Jana, and we started romp n’ roll because we didn’t find any extracurricular activities for our little ones when we moved here that we really really loved, I am a big supporter of early childhood development classes and how much impact they have on our little ones development!

How long have you lived in Katy and how long has Romp N Roll Katy been up and running?

Lived in Katy for 3.5 years now and opened romp n’ roll in September 2020 after wanting to be open March 2020 but Covid…..

What does Romp N Roll Katy offer the community? What ages is it best for? And what are your hours?

We are a kids gym and offer fun and educational gym, art and music classes. The most important thing is to know that we offer something for everyone that takes care of a little one between the age of 3 months and 5 years old. We offer drop in rates, class passes, memberships, drop off options, birthday parties, events etc etc !!! So many options and we are happy to explain it all to anyone interested in trying <3

Tell us a bit about you? Do you have kids, how many, and how old are they? Do you have pets?

I have three little ones,
  • a boy 7.5,
  • another boy 5.5
  • a little girl almost 4 months old –
  • Labradoodle Coco- she is 70lbs and black and the absolute BEST friend ever!

One thing that people would be surprised to know about you…

I try to live vegan and teach my kids about the importance of it; I am not American, I am born and raised in Germany

What did you do before you worked in this business?

I went to college, worked in a pre school in college, I became a real estate agent after being a SAHM for 5 years

Let’s dig a little deeper into your story, has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you have had to overcome?

It has been the most challenging thing in my life, next to being a mom! Opening a small business is a big challenge but in the middle of a pandemic is a huge challenge, not just financially but also with all the different opinions and thoughts out there, to make everyone of your clients happy is impossible and that breaks a business owners heart if you care deeply for the people and your business but mostly for the kids!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do and what your business offers?

We offer so so much and so much fun and education, stop by and we will tell you all about it! Mommy and me classes, Parents Morning Out and Kids Night Out probably being my favorites 🤩

What are the future plans and goals for your business?

We want to be a part of the children’s upbringing in this community and serve them as their go to place for early childhood development and grown ups to make friends and build connections with other grown ups
